Families Favourite For Advice

Families come before advisers when it comes to financial advice in 2008, according to Halifax.

New research from the bank found that 53% of people make family and friends their first port of call for financial advice.

But thankfully, 85% of the public would trust the advice given to them by a financial adviser – on average, the UK population believes it is wise to visit a financial adviser by the age of 30.

It’s also good to hear that Halifax found that a third of the population believe it is important to seek advice from a financial adviser, whatever your income level or age, to avail of all advice and products focused to your needs.

Karen Crowshaw, managing director of Halifax Financial Services, says: "It's encouraging to see that the public feel they can be open and honest about their finances with friends and family.

“However, we are in unprecedented times and things are changing at a phenomenal rate. Advisers will be able to make personal recommendations on how people can bolster their financial position – and make 2009 a good year for your finances"

It’s great to talk, but always find professional advice. A professional adviser has the experience, the knowledge and the resources to give you the very best direction for all your financial needs.

"Very helpful and professional. Both Ash and Helen always returned my calls and kept me up to date on the progress of my mortgage application. I have also agreed a buildings & contents insurance package with yourselves. Please pass on my thanks to both of them. It's a shame Alliance & Leicester were not as efficient as you, they were the only weak link in the chain."
